The Prince of Speed – La Palme – Farrel Cup – ISWC Grand Prix, has written an important page in the history of our speed sailing sport.

The highest speeds ever recorded in an official open sea competition in windsurfing, kitesurfing and wing were achieved.

Cedric Bordes has entered the history books of windsurfing with an official time between buoys (distance measured by an official surveyor) of 47.63 knots over 500 meters!

This earned him not only first place in the Windsurfing section of the Farrel Cup but also the Open Ocean Windsurfing Record, which, although not an official record, has always been highly regarded by all the champions who have made history in our sport.

Belgian Vincent Valkenaers won the ISWC Grand Prix with a perfect performance in the best of four races, reaching a speed of 45.20 knots over 500 meters.

He held the previous Windsurfing Open Ocean Record, set in the Prince of Speed on 10 June 2019 with 46.93 knots over 500 metres.

Switzerland’s Heidi Ulrich, with 40.42 knots over 500 meters, was the fastest woman in the event and broke the Women’s Open Ocean Record, which had been held for 32 years by Babette Coquelle, who achieved 40.05 knots in Tarifa in 1993.

Mention of honour for:  Pascal Boulanger over 60yo he won the master fleets with 42.245kts on 500, Damien Nico with Farrel sail: 44.13kts ‘th in the windsurfing fllet just behind Antoine Labeau 44.91kts). Mention of honour for Kevin Mathieu who is deaf and he managed to do all the races.

Having also the kite and the wing was a way to experience this wonderful celebration of speed even more deeply.

Rob Douglas is the fastest of all with his kite, closing the games with 48.81kts over 501m and the Open Ocean Record for light sailing with a top speed of 101.5km/h with Farrel gps !!!

In the Wing the young French man Pierre Schmitz partner of Antoine Albeau in Zephir Project achieved the best performance in the world in wing in an official race and in a fixed course with 35.26kts on 500m.

The French woman Audrey Marie-Agnes  was able to go faster than her Official World Record of July 2025 (31.0kts on 500m) with 31.40kts on 500m. And she confirms to be the fastest woman in the world in wing.
