La Palme, France | April 27 – May 6, 2025

The Prince of Speed ISWC World Championships have kicked off in La Palme, France, bringing nearly 50 of the world’s fastest windsurfers to one of the most unique and adrenaline-fueled events on the calendar. With racing taking place just meters from the beach, spectators enjoy front-row seats to high-speed action—where the stronger the wind, the better the show.

Open to all types of windsurfing equipment, the goal is simple: go as fast as possible. Riders of all ages, including competitors as young as 12, are taking on the challenge.

After the first day of racing, Hans Kreisel of the Netherlands leads the standings with 42.79 knots. Close behind is France’s Antoine Albeau at 42.35 knots, with Belgium’s Vincent Valkenaers currently holding third at 41.56 knots.

With some calmer days in the forecast, the fleet now waits for the wind to return and push the speeds even higher.
